Konstitutsiya davlatning asosiy ramzlaridan biri u xalqning qomusi tinchlikning asosiy devorlaridan. Konstitutsiya 1990- yil 20- iyunda davlatimizda I. A Karimov rahbarligida 64 kishidan iborat Konstitutsiya loyxasini tuzish uchun koomisya tuzildi. O'zbekiston respublikasi Konstitutsiyasi 1992- yil 8- dekabrda O'zbekiston respublikasi XII chaqiriq Oliy kengashning XI sessiyasida qabul qilindi. O'zbekiston 1991- yil 31- avgust ya'ni Mustaqillik qabul qilingandan so'ng 1992- yil 8-dekabrgacha " O'zbekiston respublikasi davlat mustaqilligi asoslari to'g'risidagi qonun" konstitutsiyani bajargan. Konstitutsiya 6 bo'lim 26 bob 128 moddadan iborat.
